Das GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt wird als eines der führenden Forschungszentren für Teilchenbeschleuniger anerkannt. Mit dem Bau der FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research), einem der größten internationalen Projekte, bietet die GSI ein spannendes Arbeitsumfeld für Wissenschaftler und Ingenieure aller Geschlechter. Die Position ist bis zum 31.08.2028 befristet und startet am 27.10.2025. In der Abteilung für Linac (LIN) erwartet die zukünftigen Mitarbeiter eine herausfordernde Tätigkeit bei der Entwicklung des superleitenden Linearbeschleunigers HELIAC. Der erste kryogene Modul befindet sich bereits im Testbetrieb, während zwei weitere Module in der Fertigung sind.
Zu den Aufgaben gehören unter anderem:
Beschaffung und Überwachung der Fertigung von Komponenten und Kryostaten für weitere Module.
Kryogene Tests von RF-Hohlräumen sowie die Entwicklung automatisierter Steuerungen für Kompressoren.
Teilnahme an Tests mit dem ersten kryogenen Modul und Beam Times.
Für diese Rolle sollten Bewerber einen Hochschulabschluss in Physik oder Ingenieurwissenschaften besitzen. Des Weiteren sind Kenntnisse in Bereichen wie Kryotechnik, Vakuumtechnik und Programmierung von Vorteil. Teamarbeit und ein sicherer Umgang sind essenziell.

Procurement and Supervision of manufacturing of components and cryostat for further cryogenic modules

Participation in tests with first cryogenic module
Participation in beam times.
Your qualifications and skills:
University Degree in physics or engineering sciences (M.Sc./M.Eng.) or comparable qualification
Ability and interest to work with mechanical systems and accelerator installations
Knowledge in one or more of these fields: cryogenic, vacuum technology, programing, industrial PLC.
Team-oriented and safe working methods
Good language skills in English and German.
The following qualifications and skills are desirable:
Experience in Python programming
Experience with analog and digital electronics.
