Der Öffentliche Dienst sucht aktuell einen Data Acquisition Specialist (all genders) in Darmstadt, Hessen, um das experimentelle Programm am GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung zu unterstützen. Dieses renommierte Zentrum spielt eine zentrale Rolle in der internationalen Forschung, insbesondere im Rahmen des FAIR-Projekts, das als eines der größten wissenschaftlichen Vorhaben weltweit gilt. Die Hauptaufgaben der Stelle umfassen den Aufbau und die Implementierung der Data Acquisition (DAQ)-Systeme sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit der NUSTAR-DAQ-Gruppe. Hierbei wird man aktiv in die Integration von Detektoren und der Überwachung von Geräten eingebunden. Zudem ist es wichtig, das bestehende DAQ-System zu betreiben, zu warten und gegebenenfalls zu erweitern. Auch die Vertretung der Super-FRS Experimentgruppe innerhalb von NUSTAR gehört zu den Aufgaben.
Die Anforderungen an Bewerberinnen und Bewerber sind hoch: Ein M.Sc. oder Diplom in Physik, Elektronik oder Informatik sowie mehrere Jahre Erfahrung in der Kernphysik sind unerlässlich. Zudem sind umfassende Kenntnisse in der DAQ-Entwicklung von Vorteil, bevorzugt mit dem MBS-System.

Operation, maintenance and upgrade of the existing FRS Data Acquisition (DAQ) system for experiments and support of the various experiment groups
Representation of the Super-FRS Experiment Collaboration within NUSTAR and GSI/FAIR on matters related to DAQ and/or slow control systems.
Your Profile:
A M.Sc. degree or Diploma in physics, electronics, information technology or a related discipline
Several years of professional work experience in nuclear physics
Proven expertise and experience in DAQ development and/or operation, preferably with MBS and in comparable scientific environments
Proven ability to integrate into an experiment team, excellent organizational and communication skills
Fluent in written and spoken English (German desirable)
Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary research team in a scientific environment.
