Die Berghof Foundation sucht einen Senior Accountant, um die effiziente Abwicklung der Buchhaltungsfunktion zu unterstützen. Diese Position, die entweder in Teilzeit oder Vollzeit ausgeübt werden kann, ist auf zwei Jahre befristet und beginnt so bald wie möglich in Berlin.
Ihre Mission
In dieser Rolle tragen Sie zu einer transparenten und stabilen finanziellen Basis bei, die für die Mission der Organisation essenziell ist. Sie sind verantwortlich für die genaue Buchführung und die zeitgerechte finanzielle Berichterstattung, während Sie sicherstellen, dass alle relevanten Regularien, einschließlich der steuerlichen und non-profit Anforderungen, eingehalten werden.
Ihre Aufgaben
Effiziente Verarbeitung und genaue buchhalterische Behandlung von Transaktionen sicherstellen.
Die Einhaltung von Steuerpflichten überwachen, einschließlich Umsatzsteuer und Körperschaftsteuer.
Buchhaltungsrichtlinien und -verfahren aktuell halten, um konsistente Berichterstattung zu unterstützen.
Gelegenheiten zur Prozessverbesserung identifizieren und bewährte Verfahren umsetzen.
Leistungsindikatoren für die Genauigkeit und rechtzeitige Ausführung von Buchhaltungsprozessen festlegen und überwachen.
Über Entwicklungen in rechtlichen und steuerlichen Vorschriften informiert bleiben.
Ihr Profil
Ein Bachelorabschluss in Accounting, Finance oder einem verwandten Bereich ist erforderlich.
Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Buchhaltung und Finanzen.
Verständnis der relevanten Regelungen und Erfahrung in der finanziellen Berichterstattung und Steueranmeldungen.
Vertrautheit mit Buchhaltungssoftware wie DATEV und MS Office ist vorteilhaft.
Ausgeprägte Aufmerksamkeit für Details und die Fähigkeit, unter Druck mehrere Aufgaben zu bewältigen.

Your missionPosition Overview: The Senior Accountant supports the efficient operation of the accounting function by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulations (including tax and non-profit requirements), and the overall integrity of financial data. In doing so, they contribute to the financial transparency and stability needed to support the organization’s mission and operations.

Your responsibilities
Ensure efficient processing and accurate accounting treatment of transactions, maintaining clear and effective internal communication at all times.
Oversee compliance with tax obligations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to support consistent and efficient financial reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices in accounting operations and systems.
Define and monitor performance indicators for the accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes (e.g., bookkeeping, approvals, payments), statutory reporting, and tax filings.
Stay informed on developments in legal, accounting, and tax regulations, as well as relevant industry trends.
Your knowledge, experience & skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter or similar certification preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
Understanding of accounting, financial and tax regulations.
Experience in financial reporting, tax filing (VAT, reverse charge, etc.)
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., DATEV, MS Dynamics, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
Strong communication skills (in both English and German), with the ability to interact with colleagues, senior management, auditors and tax advisors.
