Im Herzen von Jülich, Nordrhein-Westfalen, sucht das Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) einen Scientific Manager, der die Verantwortung für die Verwaltung von Rechenzeitressourcen und Projekten übernimmt. Diese Position bietet die Möglichkeit, einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft zu leisten.
Deine Aufgaben:
Du wirst in einem dynamischen Team arbeiten, um die Koordination von Zuteilungsprozessen und Rechenzeitbudgets mit europäischen Partnern zu organisieren. Dazu gehört auch die Organisation technischer und wissenschaftlicher Überprüfungen sowie die aktive Teilnahme an nationalen und internationalen Meetings. Präsentationen von Ergebnissen und die Erstellung von Projektberichten sind ebenfalls Teil deiner Aufgaben. Zudem wirst du Nutzer unterstützen, sowohl bei administrativen Fragen als auch bei der Durchführung von Projekten auf der JSC-Infrastruktur.
Dein Profil:
Ein Masterabschluss in Technomathematik, Informatik, Ingenieurwissenschaften oder einem verwandten Bereich ist erforderlich. Du solltest sehr gute Kenntnisse in der Computerwissenschaft und Erfahrung in der wissenschaftlichen Programmierung mit Supercomputern mitbringen. Zudem sind Kenntnisse in GPU-Programmierung und Programmiersprachen wie C, C++ oder Fortran von Vorteil. Ein Teamplayer mit einer selbstmotivierten Einstellung und exzellenten Englischkenntnissen (idealerweise auch Deutsch) wird gesucht.

Coordination of calls for allocation processes and computing time budgets with our European partners
Organization of technical and scientific review processes
Participation in national and international resource allocation board meetings and project meetings
Presentation of results in collaboration meetings, workshops and conferences and preparation of project reports
Support for users, from application and administrative issues to running projects on JSC’s infrastructure
Your Profile:
Master degree in Technomathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics or natural science or equivalent degree
Very good knowledge of techniques and methods of computer-aided sciences
Knowledge and experience in the use of and scientific application programming for supercomputers
Knowledge in GPU-based programming and modelling of scientific simulations are desirable
Programming experience in C, C++, or Fortran is desirable
Knowledge in the scripting language Python, Perl, JavaScript, SQL, Git are desirable
Experience with office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and with LaTeX
Great ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of scientists with heterogeneous backgrounds solving scientifically challenging problems on large computers
Self-motivated personality with very good command of written/spoken English and ideally a good command of German
