Die International Nuremberg Principles Academy in Nürnberg, Bayern, sucht engagierte Project Officers, die im vierten Quartal 2025 oder im ersten Quartal 2026 starten können. Diese gemeinnützige Stiftung, gegründet von der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, dem Freistaat Bayern und der Stadt Nürnberg im Jahr 2014, setzt sich für die Weiterentwicklung des internationalen Strafrechts und die Menschenrechte ein. Mit ihrem Sitz in Nürnberg, dem historischen Ort der ersten Anwendung internationalen Strafrechts, spielt die Akademie eine entscheidende Rolle im Kampf gegen die strafrechtliche Straflosigkeit für international anerkannte Kriegsverbrechen, Völkermord und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit.
Die Aufgaben der neuen Projektmitarbeiter umfassen ein breites Spektrum. Dazu gehört die Durchführung von Forschung und das Erstellen von Literaturübersichten. Ebenso werden sie in alle Phasen der Projektarbeit eingebunden, von der Gestaltung bis zur Umsetzung. Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt ist das Schreiben und Bearbeiten von Projektunterlagen und Berichten sowie die Kommunikation mit Partnern, Experten und Teilnehmern. Zudem sind sie für die Organisation von Konferenzen, Workshops und hybriden Veranstaltungen zuständig, einschließlich der jährlichen Nuremberg Moot Court und der Nuremberg Summer Academy.
Die Qualifikationen sind anspruchsvoll: Ein postgradualer Abschluss in Recht, internationalen Beziehungen oder Sozialwissenschaften sowie mindestens zwei Jahre relevante Berufserfahrung sind notwendig. Zudem wird ein fundiertes Wissen im internationalen Strafrecht vorausgesetzt. Hervorragende Recherche- und Schreibfähigkeiten sowie Kommunikationsstärke sind ebenfalls von größter Bedeutung.
Die Akademie bietet ein attraktives Arbeitsumfeld mit einem Vertrag über zwei Jahre, einem Jahresgehalt zwischen 50.000 und 55.000 Euro und 30 Tagen Urlaub pro Jahr. Bewerbungen sind bis zum 25. Juli 2025 möglich.
The International Nuremberg Principles Academy is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the advancement of international criminal law and human rights. It was established by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free State of Bavaria, and the City of Nuremberg in 2014. AufgabenThe project officers will be responsible, inter alia, for the following tasks:
Conduct research, compile literature reviews and mappings
Engage in project work, ranging from design to implementation stage
Write and edit project documents, research briefs, and reports
Liaise with project partners, experts, and event participants
Organise conferences, workshops and events, both on-site activities and hybrid formats
Organise trainings in international criminal law and capacity strengthening activities,
including the annual Nuremberg Moot Court and the Nuremberg Summer Academy for Young Professionals * Carry out various project-related and administrative tasks
Support other activities of the Academy
Profil
Education: Postgraduate degree in law, international relations, social sciences, or political sciences, with relevant specialisations
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in project work in international criminal courts/international organisations/government/non-profit sector or in research at an academic or research institution or non-governmental organisation
Demonstrated knowledge of international criminal law
Excellent research as well as writing and editing skills (please include a list of publications in your CV)
Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and initiative
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and intercultural skills, strong teamwork skills, and ability to work independently
Strong project coordination and organisational skills, proven ability to prioritise, and attention to detail
Strong computer skills (in particular Microsoft Office applications), proven experience in the use of digital conferencing software (i.e. Zoom, MS Teams or similar)
Languages: Excellent written and spoken professional proficiency in English and French is required, basic knowledge of German is desirable
Wir bietenContract Details The Academy promotes equality of opportunity. We offer a contract for two years for a full-time position at salary level E 11 (initial gross annual salary between approx. 50,000 € and approx. 55,000 € depending on relevant previous experience) of the Collective Agreement applicable to the German Public Service (TVöD Bund), 30 days of paid leave and reimbursement of moving costs to Nuremberg at the beginning of the contract. The contract includes a six-month probationary period.
